Getting Started with Digital Scholarship (8/4)

Getting Started with Digital Scholarship (8/4)

Tuesday, August 4, 2020
10:00-11:00 am Pacific / 1:00-2:00 pm Eastern

Online via Zoom

Are you interested in integrating digital scholarship assignments into your classroom, but not sure where to start? This workshop offered by DLINQ will feature panelists from Middlebury College and the Middlebury Institute of International Studies who will discuss how to engage students using digital scholarship assignments at various levels. Example assignments include timelines, video essays, and digital archives. Panelists will consider the affordances and limitations of digital projects, the process of scaffolding these assignments, and how to balance content delivery with acquiring technical skills. Presentations will be followed by Q&A. Though the fall semester has many of us navigating uncharted waters pedagogically, we believe digital scholarship assignments can be exciting ways to take advantage of online or hybrid learning environments, build classroom community, and engage with a variety of audiences. We hope this workshop will be a jumping off point for more specialized digital scholarship workshops in the future.
